 CSL Workmen Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

1. Sheet Metal Worker -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Sheet Metal Worker or Fitter.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in fabrication, i.e. cutting, fit up and welding process.

2. Welder -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Welder/ Welder (Gas & Electric).

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

3. Fitter -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Fitter.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

4. Mechanic Diesel -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Mechanic Diesel.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.



5. Mechanic Motor Vehicle -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Mechanic Motor Vehicle.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

6. Plumber -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Plumber.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

7. Painter -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Painter.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

8. Electrician -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Electrician.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

9. Electronic Mechanic -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Electronic Mechanic.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

10. Instrument Mechanic -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Instrument Mechanic.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

11. Shipwright Wood -

Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Shipwright Wood or Carpenter.

Experience:  Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

 Age Limit: (As on 28.07.2023)

 1. Sheet Metal Worker - Not exceed 30 years

2. Welder - Not exceed 30 years

3. Fitter - Not exceed 30 years

4. Mechanic Diesel - Not exceed 30 years

5. Mechanic Motor Vehicle - Not exceed 30 years

6. Plumber - Not exceed 30 years

7. Painter - Not exceed 30 years

8. Electrician - Not exceed 30 years

9. Electronic Mechanic - Not exceed 30 years

10. Instrument Mechanic - Not exceed 30 years

11. Shipwright Wood - Not exceed 30 years

The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. Candidates Relaxation in Upper Age limit will be provided as per Govt. Rules. Go through CSL official Notification 2023 for more reference.

Salary Details:

1. Sheet Metal Worker - 1st year Rs.23300/- 2nd year Rs.24000/- 3rd year Rs.24800/-

2. Welder - 1st year Rs.23300/- 2nd year Rs.24000/- 3rd year Rs.24800/-

3. Fitter - 1st year Rs.23300/- 2nd year Rs.24000/- 3rd year Rs.24800/-

4. Mechanic Diesel - 1st year Rs.23300/- 2nd year Rs.24000/- 3rd year Rs.24800/-

5. Mechanic Motor Vehicle - 1st year Rs.23300/- 2nd year Rs.24000/- 3rd year Rs.24800/-

6. Plumber - 1st year Rs.23300/- 2nd year Rs.24000/- 3rd year Rs.24800/-

7. Painter - 1st year Rs.23300/- 2nd year Rs.24000/- 3rd year Rs.24800/-

 CSL Workmen Selection Process 2023:

CSL may follow the following process to select the candidates.

1. Phase I : Objective type online Test

2. Phase II : Practical Test

 Application Fee/Exam Fee for CSL Workmen: 

(i) Application fee of ₹ 600/- (Non refundable, plus bank charges extra) should be remitted using the Online payment options (Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking/Wallets/ UPI etc) which can be accessed through our Online application facility from 14 July 2023 to 28 July 2023. No other mode of payment shall be accepted.

(ii) Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Person with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) need not pay application fee. They are exempted from payment of application fee.

(iii) All applicants for whom the fee is applicable i.e. except those belonging to SC/ST /PwBD should pay the application fee as stipulated above. It is important to note that their candidature shall be considered only on receipt of application fee. 

How to apply for CSL Workmen Post:  

(i) Applicants should go to the website www.cochinshipyard.in (Career page à CSL, Kochi) and proceed to the link for online application. The application consists of two phases – Registration and Submission of application. Applicants should not submit more than one application to the same post. Application once submitted shall be final. 

(ii) Applicants meeting the notified requirements may go through the instructions on the online application page, complete the Registration and submit their application online through the online application facility from 14 July 2023 and the facility can be accessed through our website www.cochinshipyard.in (Career page → CSL, Kochi). Application submitted direct or by any other mode shall not be accepted.
